Brian Hitchcock is the Poole People candidate for Hamworthy West & Turlin Moor and currently serves as a local BCP councillor for Hamworthy. He is committed to practical local action, helping residents with everyday issues, and protecting the places that matter most to the community.

Having moved to Poole around ten years ago, Brian has built a strong connection to the town through its coastline, public spaces and community life. A keen sailor and fisherman, he values Poole’s unique setting and wants to help make the most of its natural and local assets for residents.

His priorities include cleaner streets, support for Poole’s heritage, stronger community spirit, more activity in Poole town centre, and better use of parks and open spaces in Hamworthy.

Brian wants to continue listening to residents, helping with local issues, and making sure Hamworthy has a strong voice in local decision-making.

Protect parks and open spaces

Brian believes Hamworthy’s parks and open spaces are valuable local assets and wants to see them properly protected and well used for the benefit of residents and families.

Improve cleanliness and local pride

Brian wants to tackle litter and improve the appearance of local streets so people can feel greater pride in the area they call home.

Support Poole’s heritage and town centre

He wants to promote activity on Poole Quay and High Street while supporting development that respects the heritage and character of Poole.

Brian believes strong communities make for a stronger town. He wants to encourage a greater sense of connection and pride in Hamworthy and across Poole.
