He is standing for Old Town & Baiter Ward as a Poole People – independent and local candidate.

Chris is a co-founder of Poole People and has spent many years championing a local-first approach to politics, focused on transparency, community involvement and practical action for Poole. Chris believes Poole deserves strong independent local voices who understand the town, care about its future, and are prepared to stand up for it.

Chris’s priorities

01

Protect Poole’s heritage and historic character

Chris wants to see development that respects the character and history of Poole, especially in Old Town. He believes new projects should enhance the area, not erode the identity that makes Poole distinctive.

02

Supporting a stronger High Street and Quay

A key priority is helping the High Street and Quay become more vibrant, welcoming and well-used. Chris wants to encourage more footfall, support local activity, and promote events that bring life into the heart of Poole.

03

Cleaner streets and better public spaces for all

Chris wants to help improve street cleanliness and tackle the litter and untidiness that affect the town centre. He believes a cleaner Poole creates a better experience for residents, visitors and local businesses alike.

04

Encouraging tourism and civic pride in Poole

Poole has a remarkable harbour, rich heritage and strong local identity. Chris wants to celebrate these strengths, support the role of the Mayor, and encourage tourism in a way that benefits the town and boosts local pride.

05

Making the best use of Poole’s parks and open spaces

Chris wants to see better use of Poole’s parks and open spaces, including Baiter, Poole Park and Hamworthy Park. He sees these places as important assets for residents, families and the wider community.
