Standing for Parkstone, Lilliput & Sandbanks Ward, May 2026

Susan Stockwell is the Poole People candidate for Parkstone, Lilliput & Sandbanks. A Poole resident for over 30 years, she has raised her family here, built a local business connection, and spent many years supporting the community through volunteering and local involvement.  

Susan wants to protect the open spaces, community assets and public access routes that make this part of Poole so valued by residents. Her priorities include standing up for local character, making good use of the Town Council’s planning role, and helping ensure the area continues to benefit from caring local representation. 

She believes local politics should be practical, protective of community assets, and closely connected to the people and places it serves.

Susan's priorities

Protect Poole’s open spaces
Susan wants to protect and maintain access to the precious open spaces that define this ward, including Poole Harbour, the beaches, Evening Hill, Luscombe Valley, Blake Hill and Parkstone Cemetery.

Safeguard community assets

She wants to explore grant funding and other opportunities to help protect the valued local spaces and assets that matter to residents.

Use planning and licensing powers well

Susan believes the Town Council should make full and careful use of its role as a statutory consultee on planning and licensing applications to help protect the character and interests of the area.

Protect access routes and rights of way

A key priority is ensuring public access through footpaths and bridleways is maintained and protected for local people and visitors.

Continue caring local representation

Susan wants to continue the tradition of watchful, community-minded local government, giving residents a representative who understands and values the area.
